The Woolsheds

This was sheep country and the woolsheds have a history of their own. In descending order are Turlee, Mungo and Kinchega. Turlee is still operating, the other two are now incorporated into National Parks.

Bindara

While the others were having morning tea inside a gauzy gazebo set up on the lawn, I sneaked inside and captured the fading elegance of a grand Victorian homestead.
Bindara faces the Darling, had its own wharf in its day, but now both the Darling and Bindara endure the drought and hope to survive.

Broken Hill

Rubble walled stone houses and corrugated iron dominate the architecture here.

This is a fine example of a corrugated iron house, just lacking a mini orb facade, pressed metal sides to the balcony and louvres to the front apex.

Mini orb in all its glory.
